JGM conducted one day trip to Pulau Rambut at July 19th for Mr. Hirly’s family. His family is the winner of lucky draw to join JGM trip to Pulau Rambut. Those family is the particiapant of Monas Clean Up Action a few weeks before. Before go to Pulau Rambut, the participants was guided with JGM volunteers to know more about Muara Angke Wildlife Sanctuary ecosystem. We explain them about the biodiversity and the threat of the forest. After that, we go to the boat and heading to Pulau Rambut.

Along the trip, Putri explained about environmental damage that caused by urban pollution. There’s so many garbage lies at the shore line, so many garbage that traped at boat propoler and another unseen impact that made suffer to origin wildlife there. First destination is Pulau Onrust, one of the historical island in Pulau Seribu. In those island, we see a ruin of historical site. Unfortunately there’s no left building that showed the important value of Pulau Onrust.

Next destination is Pulau Untung Jawa. We go to this island for take a rest and have a lunch before go to Pulau Rambut. Pulau Rambut and Untung Jawa distance is about 500 meters. To reach Pulau Rambut take about 15 minutes by boat. We guidance those family to explore the biodiversity of Pulau Rambut. They looked so exciting to the excotism of this island. They never imagine the situation inside before. That’s so many birds nests in the Pulau Rambut forest. A few people known it as bird island.

After the great day, the whole of participant then back to Jakarta in the afternoon. After join this trip, Mr. Hirly’s family made a great comitment. From now they want to be a green habit family. They want to reduce their impact to the environment and want to save the left wildlife in Jakarta. They want to start from the simple one, reducing their garbage production and try to discipine to put their garbage on garbage bin.
